What is Interactive Metronome (IM)?

Interactive Metronome is a goal-oriented program that challenges patients to do a range of brain and whole body exercises to computer-generated beat. It uses a patented computerized program that accurately measures, assesses, and improves a person's rhythm and timing.

How does IM work?
IM trains the brain to plan, sequence and process information more effectively through repetition of interactive exercises. This is done along with the metronome (or beat) because rhythm plays an important role in how our brain functions. Any advanced thinking, problem solving, planning or thought sequencing involves a variety of internal rhythms and processes, which can be positively influenced by IM.

While doing these rhythmic exercises, patients receive immediate auditory and visual feedback from the computer software. This is possible due to hand and foot triggers that sense when the patient makes contact with them during the activity. This feedback, along with the IM specialist's coaching and support, work together to train your brain and improve your symptoms.
